Is there any team hotter than Spain Park? Or a hotter player than Spain Park’s Jamal Johnson?

Johnson, a Memphis signee and son of former Alabama and NBA standout Buck Johnson, finished with 31 points, 12 rebounds and three assists to lead Spain Park (9-10) to a 66-62 victory at Class 7A No. 1-ranked Mountain Brook (20-3) on Tuesday night.

Spain Park struggled early in the season, after losing 6-foot-11 senior Austin Wiley to prep school, but the Jaguars have reeled off consecutive area victories over Oak Mountain, Huffman and Mountain Brook. Wiley is now playing at Auburn as a mid-year enrollee.

For Mountain Brook on Tuesday, sophomore Trendon Watford scored 34 points and Sean Elmore added 11.

For Spain Park, Brooklyn Pope had 14 points.
