Mountain Brook delivered a steady and balanced performance Monday night, defeating Homewood 53–37 and showcasing improved ball movement across all four quarters.
Avery Davis, Kate Bakken and Maddie Walter each finished with 12 points. Davis and Bakken added 3 assists apiece, while Walter grabbed 7 rebounds to anchor the interior. Clarkie Wilkinson contributed 9 points, 3 assists and 3 steals, and Annabelle Avery added 6 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals, giving the Spartans a lift on both ends of the floor.
Coach Price said she was pleased with the win but emphasized the team's ongoing goal of starting games sharper.
"We're still working to get into a rhythm earlier in games," Price said. "When we settle in and play together, you can see what we're capable of. The goal is to reach that level from the opening tip."
