In a fiercely contested game, The JV Mens Soccer team triumphed over Oak Mountain High School. An early penalty against the Spartans found them playing from a goal down as the Eagles converted from the spot. Henry Welsh on a through ball, from there, Welsh beat the defense and rounded the keeper to score the opener for the Spartans. The second half was all Mountain Brook.
Sequoia Pierce found
James Petrey off of a corner to bring the score back even. Sequoia found the back of the net himself after the Oak Mountain keeper was unable to keep control of the ball, and Pierce tapped it in to give Mountain Brook their first lead of the night.
Jack Dixon converted from the PK spot to give the Spartans a 4-2 final score.
Sequoia Pierce earned Player of the Game honors with a stand-out display from the midfield.
