Morgan Minich collected three hits in three at bats, as Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans defeated Wicksburg Varsity Panthers 2026 12-2 on Friday at Wald Park. Minich hit a home run to left field in the second inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans won thanks in part to seven runs in the first inning.  Anna Kate Shea singled, scoring one run, Marianna Murray drew a walk, scoring one run, Mary B. Arendall drew a walk, scoring one run, a wild pitch scored one run, Addison Webb doubled, scoring two runs, and Reagan Rape singled, scoring one run.

Minich homered to left field, scoring two runs in the top of the second for the Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans.

Wicksburg Varsity Panthers 2026 scored two runs in the bottom of the third on a home run to right field by Chloe Joyner.

Mackenzie Wedell earned the win for Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans. The starter surrendered one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking none. Gracie Driskell took the loss for Wicksburg Varsity Panthers 2026. The righty went three and two-thirds innings, giving up six runs (four earned) on eight hits, striking out seven and walking none. Elizabeth Murray threw one inning of scoreless ball for Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans in relief. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out none and walking one.
