Lady Spartans Open Season with Road Win Over Mortimer Jordan

The Mountain Brook girls basketball team opened the 2025–26 season with an impressive 51–41 road victory over Mortimer Jordan on Monday night.

Senior Maddie Walter led the way with a dominant double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds to pace the Lady Spartans. Avery Davis added 12 points and 4 assists, while Lindsey Dean chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds in a balanced team effort.

Head Coach Sara Price praised her team's resilience in the season opener.

"Winning on the road takes toughness," Price said. "Our seniors set the tone tonight with their leadership and composure. They've worked hard to prepare for moments like this, and it showed in how we finished the game."

With the win, Mountain Brook starts the season 1–0 and will look to build on the momentum when they face Plainview on Tuesday in Huntsville.
