Pelham 54, Mountain Brook 48
Mountain Brook fell 54–48 on the road Tuesday night in a hard-fought matchup against Pelham, a game defined by physical play and late defensive stands.
Braden Little led the Spartans with 15 points and 4 rebounds, attacking the rim fearlessly in the second half. Trey Davis added 12 points and 3 assists, while Hill McCluney contributed 11 points, giving Mountain Brook consistent scoring across the board.
Despite a strong push late, the Spartans couldn't fully erase the Pelham lead.
Head coach Coach Davis said the biggest takeaway from the loss is how his group responds.
"Pelham was tougher than us in some stretches, and that can't happen," Davis said.
"But I'm excited to see how we respond. This group has heart, and sometimes a game like this forces you to grow up a little."
