Big 3rd Inning Leads Enterprise Past Mountain Brook Softball

Enterprise Varsity Wildcats defeated Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans 13-3 on Friday at Wald Park thanks in part to seven runs in the third inning.

Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans got on the board in the top of the first inning after Claire Robinett doubled, scoring two runs, and Anna Kate Shea grounded out, scoring one run.

Enterprise Varsity Wildcats scored two runs in the bottom of the first on a home run to left field by Emma Barrette.

Lee Lott homered to left field, which helped Enterprise Varsity Wildcats tie the game at three in the bottom of the second.

Enterprise Varsity Wildcats flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring seven runs on five hits to take the lead, 10-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to center field by Lott that drove in three.

Lott homered to center field, scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth for the Enterprise Varsity Wildcats.

Madeline Tindol earned the win for Enterprise Varsity Wildcats. The starter allowed six hits and three runs over four innings, striking out five and walking two. Emma Durr took the loss for Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans. The starter went two and two-thirds innings, surrendering six runs on five hits, striking out one and walking two.

Robinett provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-2 on the day. Reagan Rape set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans with three hits in three at bats. Molly Shea collected two hits for Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans in three at bats.

Enterprise Varsity Wildcats amassed 10 hits in the game. Lott went 3-for-3 at the plate and led the team with seven runs batted in. Barrette, Addy Whaley, and Addie Reagan each collected multiple hits for Enterprise Varsity Wildcats.

Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans will travel to Sparkman Varsity Senators for their next game on Friday.
