Huntsville Varsity Lady Panthers defeated Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans 15-0 on Thursday thanks in part to nine runs in the second inning.

Huntsville Varsity Lady Panthers jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Sara Carter doubled, scoring one run, Emma Harwood drew a walk, scoring one run, Shelby Ulrich doubled, scoring three runs, and Carter drew a walk, scoring one run.

Huntsville Varsity Lady Panthers scored nine runs on five hits in the bottom of the second inning. An error scored one run, Harwood doubled, scoring one run, Elise Amason singled, scoring one run, Carter drew a walk, scoring one run, Allison Naccari singled, scoring three runs, and Harwood singled, scoring two runs.

Emma Durr led things off in the circle for Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans. The starter gave up three hits and six runs over one inning, striking out none and walking six. Ulrich started the game for Huntsville Varsity Lady Panthers. The hurler gave up two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking three.

Anna Kate Shea and Reagan Rape each collected one hit for Mountain Brook Varsity Spartans.

Harwood went 2-for-2 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. Harwood and Amason each collected two hits for Huntsville Varsity Lady Panthers. Huntsville Varsity Lady Panthers had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Amya Duster, Grey Clark, and Carter led the team with two bases on balls each.
