Mountain Brook battled to the final but fell 55–46 to Walker Valley in the Innisfree Hotels Pensacola Beach Tournament Championship. The Spartans showed grit throughout the tournament and leave Pensacola proud of their performance as tournament runners-up.
Coach Davis praised the team's preparation and focus leading into area play. "We scheduled a tough pre-area slate on purpose," he said. "We wanted to be pushed and to learn how to grind through games. Those early tests forced us to get better in all phases — defensively, on the glass and in late-game execution. I'm proud of how the guys responded and how we competed this week."
Top contributors for Mountain Brook included Griffin Allen with 12 points, Porter Perry with 8 points and 4 rebounds, and Trey Davis with 7 points and 5 assists. Their balanced effort helped the Spartans reach the championship game.
Reflecting on the tournament run, Coach Davis added, "We're proud of this finish. Being runners-up in a competitive field shows our progress and gives us momentum heading into January. We'll keep grinding and be ready for area play."
